This is a concept I created while I was doing some brainstorming for a design contest. I have always thought the idea of Stereopsis was both intimidating and also full of potential. During high school, there were a handful of doodles I had made where I had attempted to blend two images into one, but this is my first successful finished piece.
The underlying message of this piece revolves around the "bad" parts of ourselves that we shun in order to fit in or maintain a certain reputation. There are many aspects of who I am that I didn't allow myself to tap into until recently, and to this day, I find corners of my soul that have not been given the opportunity to be unleashed.
You could spend your whole life trying to scrub away your true colors. If you did that, though, I can assure you that at the end of the road, you would look back with regret. Regret that instead of nurturing those colors, you were trying to scrub them off. Because when death came, you realized that they were never coming off, and you've wasted all your time denying yourself a lifetime of authenticity.
Embrace every single part of yourself, the good, the strange, the bad or one day you'll wake up mourning the person you could have been.
